Raila: I’ll fix food prices, inflation within 100 days in office

While addressing the locals in Laikipia County, Raila pledged to fix the economy within 100 days in office.

“In the first 100-days of Baba government, mtaona mabadiliko. Watu wetu wamechoka, wamebeba mzigo mkubwa zaidi. Bei ya bidhaa ziko juu wakati huu. Bei ya mafuta iko juu, bei ya unga iko juu, na kila kitu iko juu, lakini tutabadilish haya yote,” Raila said.

Translates to: "In the first 100-days of Baba's tenure, you will see changes. Our people are tired, they have been burdened enough. The prices of commodities are high. The price of cooking oil is high, the price of cooking flour is also higher and almost everything, but we will fix this".

Raila also promised the locals that he will ensure the region has enough water in all seasons by building more dams and connecting water to all households.

He also said that farmers in the country will have something to smile about since his government will provide fertiliser and ensure a market for their produce.

Raila said that through his BabaCare program which is meant to transform the health sector, all Kenyans in the country will have access to health even without having money.

Through his social protection program and social protection funds, Raila said that vulnerable Kenyans who don’t have any means of income will receive a Sh6,000 monthly stipend.

He also criticised some of the government officials whom he said have been implicated in corruption.

Raila said that the corrupt will be jailed in his government.

Earlier, Raila engaged with the candidates going for elective seats under Azimio in Nanyuki.
