I do not know the value proposition of forming a committee to select a running mate for Raila. In my view, and if that committee asks for an opinion, I am sure my opinion is the one that will prevail.
The candidate for deputy president is none other than Martha Wangari Karua.
I am saying that because the person who shall be the running mate must be deemed to be capable enough to become the president or run the office of the president in the event the president is incapable of running that particular office. That is the constitutional logic behind this.
Karua became a very good choice and for a long time…I have attacked her repeatedly but when I saw the light in June last year, I said she is the one and she will be the one.
The other person who qualifies to run the office is Kalonzo Musyoka, but he is being invited by the right side of history to become the king in waiting the way Baba was during the handshake years.
Baba was given absolutely nothing, the President has told us "he asked nothing from me and I gave him nothing", no half government. The only thing he was promised, I believe informally, was you shall be the king in waiting and as a king in waiting he was given all the accolades- all the perks of power.
Whenever he visited any country he was received by our ambassador and at the time basically he was like a co-president.
Kalonzo is being invited by the right side of history, therefore to occupy that position of the king in waiting so that after five years it becomes obvious just like it became obvious regarding Raila's sacrifice. After five years Kalonzo would become the sixth.
If our logic makes sense then the only person who is left for the position is Karua, so this committee should not waste a lot of time debating these matters. Just take my counsel and finish up this story.
