Kenya records 16 new cases of Covid, no death

The positivity rate is now at 0.5 per cent.

Kenya on Wednesday recorded 16 new cases of Covid-19 from a sample size of 3,183 tested in the last 24 hours.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement that 11 are Kenyans while 5 are foreigners, 12 males, and 4 females.

The youngest patient is 2-year old while the oldest is 57 years.

In terms of County distribution; Nairobi 15 and Embu 1.

Confirmed positive cases are 323,646 while cumulative tests are 3,573,937.

The CS said that no patient has succumbed to the disease, hence, the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,649.

The CS added that 31 patients have recovered from the disease, 23 are from the Home-Based and Isolation Care while 8 are from the health facilities countrywide.

Total recoveries were 317,882 of whom 264,856 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,026 are from various health facilities countrywide. 

Three patients are currently admitted to various health facilities while 122 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

No patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on supplemental oxygen or in the general wards.

No patient in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

Vaccination Campaign 

A total of 17,826,600 vaccines have been administered across the country.

The number of doses administered to the adult population is 16,304,144 

Another 1,230,222 are doses administered to those between 15 to 17 years while 292,234 a are booster doses.

The proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 30.3%

The positivity rate is now at 0.5 per cent.
