Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has clarified that he is comfortable with whichever political formation that will be formed by the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance.
Speaking at a church function in Kitui on Saturday, Kalonzo appeared to downplay demands issued by his political lieutenants that he must be Raila Odinga's running mate in the August 9 polls.
"I want to say it here categorically that whatever formation you come up with, it is time for Raila to become the president of Kenya. I commend him for resilience and the ability to stand strong," he said.
Raila was present as Kalonzo was speaking during the ordination of 10 bishops to serve in the ATG ministry.
The two pitched tents in Kitui where they attended several functions.
Kalonzo added that come August, Kenya will be liberated from corruption witnessed in Kenya.
"Corruption witnessed in Kenya is too high and because of the ability to tolerate each other and the statesmanship of President Uhuru Kenyatta, he has not arrested these persons from the top," said the Wiper leader.
"It is time to correct the leadership of Kenya."
On his part, Raila said if he will be elected the next President of Kenya, he will ensure the water shortage in Ukambani is addressed.
He said he is happy to team up and work with the church in order to do what is right for the people of Kenya.
‘Water is required here and my government will ensure it is brought closer to people to ensure locals live comfortably and our women do not have to walk so many kilometres in search of water,’ he said.
He also added that his government will help the orphans, single-parent- mothers, and the vulnerable in the society who he promised will get aid through cash transfer exercises.
Leaders who were present included Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, Kitui Senator Enock Kiio, his counterpart from Machakos Agnes Kavindu, Kitui Women Rep Irene Kasalu, Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna, Mwingi North MP Paul Nzengu, Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi, Kitui West MP Edith Nyenze, former Kitui Governor Julius Malombe, former Senator David Musila, among other leaders.
