Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has hit out at Deputy President William Ruto after he said he had an elaborate plan to fight corruption in the country if elected president.

In a Twitter post, while responding to Ruto's remarks as quoted by the Star, the governor said that the DP had admitted to knowing more about corruption that anyone else.

"He has basically admitted that he understands theft more than anyone else, which is indisputable," she said.

Ruto, while addressing residents in Wajir County on Thursday,  had said only the Kenya Kwanza Alliance can eradicate corruption in the country.

He was responding to ODM party leader Raila Odinga who accused him of being a product of corruption.

Ngilu further compared Ruto's appeal to Kenyans to vote for him to a wolf asking to lead the sheep.

"The wolf is casually asking to be allowed to lead the sheep," she said.

At the rally, DP had accused Raila of being corrupt and promised to end corruption if elected in the August 9 polls.

"You have no ground, you have no plan and the only group with a plan to fight corruption is the Kenya Kwanza Alliance because we are going to operationalise the Judiciary Fund,” the DP said.

Speaking on Thursday during his Wajir County campaigns, Ruto said his government will provide funds to fight corruption to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

“We shall build institutions to fight corruption,” he said.
