Migori governor politics marred a rally organised by the Orange Democratic Movement party at Posta grounds in Migori Town as supporters clashed.
Supporters of Migori senator Ochillo Ayacko and Migori Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo clashed, booed each other and stopped the rally midway.
Build up to the rally, supporters of the two leaders have been bickering and clashing over the venue and the order of preference of dignitaries.
While the rally started early, Odhiambo organised her own rally which brought elders from Suna East, Suna West and Nyatike constituencies to endorse her bid at Kababu Livestock market, five kilometres from Migori Town.
Odhiambo later stormed the Posta grounds venue at the tail end of the event as Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina was speaking.
"I can't talk when Mama is coming to the podium, let her through please," Ole Kina said when Odhiambo's supporters insisted she be allowed to the podium.
For close to 15 minutes Odhiambo was on the base of the podium with the crowd after the staircase to the steel podium disappeared.
Her handlers were forced to carry her shoulder high and hoist her on the podium as the DJs at the function played music to mar boos and heckling from both supporters.
"Let the DJ play the music as these people fight down here," Ole Kina said.
Ayacko kept away from popularising his governor bid but instead said the rally was meant to ensure Raila is elected president and ODM bags all elective seats.
"National politics should never be mixed with these small politics to derail us, we will miss the bigger picture of taking Raila to State House," Ole Kina said.
Odhiambo, when given a chance to speak called for peace and an equal level field in the ODM primaries "to ensure we get the best governor to defend the party and Raila in Migori."
Other dignitaries who attended the function included Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo and Kilifi senator Stewart Madzayo.
Odhiambo and Ayacko are fighting off for the ODM ticket in April 13 primaries alongside businessmen Philip Mwabe, Robert Okong'o and former Mombasa executive Seth Odongo.
The three other aspirants refused to attend the Friday rally completely complaining it was an event meant for the coronation of Ayacko.
Other aspirants have complained that the ODM party is biased in favour of Ayacko.
"If our brother Ayacko wants to do his popularization which is very normal, he should just openly do so in his name but not label it ODM or Azimio," Odongo said.
Okong'o said the ODM party should ensure the April 13 primaries are free and fair "and deal with these rumours that a ticket has already been dished out."
On Thursday, ODM county officials led by chairman Philip Makabong'o and Joseph Olala, chairman and secretary respectively, insisted the Posta rally was an ODM affair.
