The new Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) boss Ezekiel Mutua has vowed to work with Kenyan musicians to raise the quality of their work and restore the industry's glory.
Speaking via Facebook, Mutua noted that musicians in more progressive countries are among the richest and most respected members of society.
He added that that can be achieved in Kenya.
"I am your champion... MCSK belongs to musicians and my brief is, therefore, to fight for your welfare," Mutua said.
Further, he has urged Kenyan musicians to support him as he begins the journey to revive the industry.
"I appeal for your support as we begin the journey of reviving and repositioning this great industry."
He has reiterated his Monday's message of gratitude to the MCSK Board of Directors.
"To the MSCK Board of Directors, the wonderful colleagues that I have met so far, to all our stakeholders, to my friends and fans, thank you for the warm reception," he said.
Mutua was appointed to the position on Friday and publicly announced on Monday.
