The Wiper party of Kalonzo Musyoka has suffered another blow following the exit of former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly David Musila.
Musila was welcomed on Friday to the Jubilee Party by the Party Director of Elections Kanini Kega.
The party said that Musila will run for the Kitui governor seat in the August 9 elections.
This comes days after Musila's campaign team denied media reports that he was about to quit Wiper.
“The story published by the Star on Monday regarding Musila having ditched Wiper party is not true and is a misquotation,” chairman Paul Kitungu said on Monday.
He said it was Musila's followers who took the microphone and one after another asked the candidate to contest as an independent candidate should the going get tough at Wiper.
Musila launched his manifesto on Saturday at the Musila gardens in Mwingi town.
He is one of the founding members of Wiper alongside Kalonzo, former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and Mutula Kilonzo senior.
