Progressive Party of Kenya leader Moses Akaranga has said they will not blindly join any coalition and will demand a fair deal.
He said the coalition that will ask for their support, will have to meet PPOK's demands first before any deal can be signed.
The former Vihiga governor said his outfit has yet to make a decision on which coalitions to join.
"We have just seen people joining coalitions and signing papers on behalf of their parties," Akaranga said.
"If we have to join a coalition, we must sign a deal that is good for all party members and not individuals."
Akaranga was speaking at his home in Sabatia where he held the party's National Delegation Conference (NDC).
He received delegates from 36 counties eyeing MCA, MP and senator positions.
Akaranga also received a handful of defectors and new party members.
He urged his party members in Vihiga to rally behind him to help him clinch the governor's seat.
Akaranga was elected as the first governor in 2013 under his PPOK. He lost the seat to Governor Wilber Ottichilo in 2017.
Akaranga said he wants to recapture the seat to accomplish what he had started for the Vihiga people.
He accused Ottichilo of neglecting the projects he had initiated.
But Ottichilo accused Akaranga of investing in ghost projects that have landed the county into huge pending bills.
Others eyeing the seat include Senator George Khaniri, Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi, Deputy Governor Patrick Saisi and former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende.
