Police are considering pressing charges against the motorist who endangered the life of his girlfriend and other road users.

Police were responding to a video that had gone viral of a woman screaming in a speeding probox.

The video captured a lady helplessly screaming inside a speeding Probox registration number KBJ 835Z along Thika road.

In the video shared on social media, the unidentified lady was reportedly picked from Kenyatta University and bundled into a Probox before it started speeding off.

Efforts to stop the car were futile as the driver sped off.

But in a statement on Monday, police said the woman was not abducted.

“It has since been established that the incident involves a couple (boyfriend and girlfriend) who had a disagreement after a social outing within the city,” police said.

Police said the lady wanted to alight and go home, whilst the boyfriend insisted on spending the evening together.

“During the scuffle, a member of the public took the clip which was circulated online,” police said.

“Yesterday after reconciliation, the couple reported to the police  purposely to withdraw the matter from police action.”

The incident which many thoughts was an abduction is under investigation by Kasarani police.
