Lawyer Miguna Miguna has praised deputy president William Ruto for the speech he delivered at Kasarani during his unveiling as the UDA party presidential nominee.

The Lawyer, who has been critical of the Azimio la Umoja camp, said the speech had key aspects of what he has been rooting for since time immemorial.

"We will not surrender to tyranny. We will not bow to anyone. We will not worship anyone. Kenya does not belong to anyone. Kenya belongs to all of us. We will liberate Kenya. Wonderful to see William Ruto and his team echo my message since 1987. Bravo," he tweeted on Tuesday.

His message came hours after the DP gave an acceptance speech of his nomination as the UDA party flagberer.

The DP used the occasion to launch a scathing attack at President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga accusing them of failing Kenyans.

His speech was characterised by lists of issues he said he will address if elected the 5th president of the Republic of Kenya.

It is his dig at the President that left many admiring or loathing his courage.

“Our competitors are the agents of monopolies. They are the masters of conflict of interest. They are the agents of state capture and we must free this country,” the DP said.

“They believe that this nation should be about a few people who wield the levers of state power. This country is not just about leaders. This country is about 50 million Kenyans."

The DP also pledged to ensure that the massive borrowing that has punctuated the Jubilee government is investigated once he clinches the presidency.

"It is tragic that the only thing the handshake has done is to borrow Sh7 trillion in four years."

His endorsement for the top seat now sets the stage for a fierce battler between him and Raila who was unveiled as Azimio presidential candidate on Saturday.
