Media council opens entries for journalism excellence awards

The winners Gala will be held on May 4, 2022.

The Media Council of Kenya has opened the submission of entries for the tenth annual journalism excellence awards to be held in May.

The council says all entries must be submitted online via https://ajea.mediacouncil.or.ke on or before midnight, March 31, 2022.

"The Media Council of Kenya invites MCK accredited journalists working in Kenya to submit their work published during the past year for the annual journalism excellence awards 2022," MCK said in a press release. 

The council said winning entries will be recognized and awarded during the Winners Gala at the tenth anniversary of the AJEA gala dinner on May 4, 2022, as the finale of the Annual Media Summit.

Winners will walk away with cash prizes, trophies, certificates and training scholarships.  

Entries are open in 18 categories for radio, print, television and digital. 

They include reporting on gender, Big Four Agenda, health, environment, sports, agriculture and food security.

Others are best radio production, a podcast of the year, best investigative story, camera person of the year, best news website, photojournalist of the year, cartoonist of the year and best primetime bulletin.
