Deputy President William Ruto has told Kenyans in the United Kingdom that their stake in the country is huge and they must protect it.
In a tweet after a meeting with Kenyans in diaspora, Ruto urged Kenyans in the UK to play their part in safeguarding their investments as hustlers.
"Kenyans in the diaspora are true hustlers. They know the true sense of what hustling means," he said.
"Your stake in Kenya is huge and you must play your part in shaping its destiny to guarantee and safeguard your hard-earned investments."
The second in command said that together, they have the opportunity to move the country forward.
During the meeting, Ruto was accompanied by Governors Salim Mvurya (Kwale), Ann Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Josphat Nanok (Turkana), Senators Susan Kihika (Nakuru), Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet) MP's Soipan Tuya, Kimani Ichungwah, Owen Baya, Beatrice Adagala, Alice Wahome, and economist David Ndii.
The Deputy President arrived in London for the second leg of his 12-day US-UK foreign trip, on Sunday.
"Highlights of his public engagements include a conversation with the Archbishop of Canterbury and a Marlborough Peace Dialogues keynote speech at the Commonwealth Secretariat," Director of Communications Hussein Mohamed said in a statement.
He said Ruto's delegation will also hold private bilateral consultations with the UK government at both the Whitehall and Parliament.
