President Uhuru Kenyatta has wished candidates all the best as the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exam started on Monday.
The president asked the candidates not to be warry about the outcome of the exam as long as they do their best at writing what they were taught by teachers.
"Remember what we have always told you, whatever the outcome, we believe in you," Uhuru said in a press statement.
The president, nonetheless, reminded the candidates that their dedication and hard work will guarantee them victory in the exams. His message was also intended for KSCE candidates who will begin their exams on March 14.
The head of state discouraged the candidates from iengaging in any form of exam malpractice and instead believe in their abilities to ace the questions.
"We know you have been imparted with adequate knowledge and information for the task ahead of you. Cheating will not give you yields, instead, it will destroy you. Trust in your hard work," Uhuru said.
The president pointed out that the government has implemented significant reforms in the education sector which guarantees every learner an opportunity to be part of something regardless of the results they get.
"May God give you a good understanding, and may God bless the work of your hands," Uhuru said.
The KCPE exams will take three days, starting from Monday, March 7 and end on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.
A total of 1,225,693 candidates are sitting the exam across 28,248 exam centres countrywide.
The candidates will start with writing the Mathematics from 8.30 am followed by English after a 30-minute break.
They will then write English composition in the afternoon from 2.30 pm.
On Tuesday, candidates will tackle Science paper in the morning followed by Kiswahili Lugha in the mid-morning before closing off the day with Kiswahili Insha and Kenyan sign language.
On the final day of the exams, they will sit Social studies and religious education paper.
All the written exams will also incorporate braille while Mathematics and English papers will have a special exam for the hearing impaired.
