Raila meets party executive committee as Ruto woos Ukambani

The former prime minister will chair the ODM NEC meeting.

ODM leader Raila Odinga will Thursday meet members of the Orange party's National Executive Committee.

The meeting comes ahead of the party's National Delegates Congress set for the weekend.

On Wednesday, Raila met defectors from South Rift who had joined ODM.

The move is also seen as Raila taking a break from his campaign to restrategise.

The former prime minister will chair the ODM NEC meeting.

Deputy President William Ruto will continue his tour of Ukambani as he seeks the region's support in the August 9 polls.

Ruto will be accompanied by his Kenya Kwanza alliance partners Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula.

The Ruto-led alliance will tour Tseikuru, Mathuki, Mutitu, Athi, Kisiiki and Kaviani areas where they will make stopovers and address residents.

The DP's tour of Ukambani started on Wednesday.
