Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri declares bid for Kasarani MP seat

He promised to uplift the lives of youths and women in the constituency.

Betting company, Sportpesa CEO Captain Ronald Karauri has officially declared his bid for the Kasarani parliamentary seat.

Speaking on Wednesday, Karauri exhumed confidence that come August 9, he will be their representative

"I have officially announced my bid and I am asking for your votes," he said.

He called on Kasarani residents to elect leaders who will transform their lives starting with him.

Current MP Mercy Gakuya is also interested in the seat.

Karauri joins the long list of people who enjoy celebrity status who have tossed their hands into the murky waters of politics. 

Others who have expressed interest in the seat include; veteran rapper Jackson Ngechu popularly known as Prezzo.

Gakuya was elected in 2017 on a Jubilee ticket. Before her election, the constituency was represented by John Njoroge.

ODM's Elizabeth Ongoro represented Kasarani from 2007 to 2013.
