Samsung Electronics picks new MD for East Africa

Samsung Electronics has picked Mr Tae Sun Lee as the new Managing director for the company in East Africa.

Sun Lee has succeeded Seok Min Hong, who was the MD since 2017.

He will spearhead the 14 markets of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Burundi, Somalia, Somali Land, Djibouti, DRC, Ethiopia, Congo and Seychelles from January 2022.

Lee has served the company since 2003, handling the mobile business in South Africa and others while supporting the Middle East and Africa business from HQ – South Korea.

Previously, he was the Strategic Director Integrated Mobility Division at Samsung Electronics South Africa.

“I am very excited to have joined Samsung Electronics East Africa. I believe this market has a great deal of potential for our Samsung products. I look forward to serving our customers and working together with the East African Team,” he said.
