Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has vehemently denied that he is interested in the highly coveted Kiambu Governor seat.
This was after a well-crafted poster emerged claiming that he is eyeing the top seat and that Biashara Member of County Assembly Elijah Njoroge was his running mate.
The poster was making rounds on the social media pages.
Njoroge had earlier shown interest in the position of Kiambu County Senator. When asked whether the poster is legit, the MCA agreed but could not be reached for further information.
But Kuria denied it, adding that he only communicates through his social media handle.
“I do my announcements on my page,” Kuria told the Star through a WhatsApp text.

The legislator got injured after using an electric therapeutic mat to cure numbness in his feet.
If the Chama Cha Kazi Party leader was to throw his weight into the Kiambu Governor race, he would battle it out with governor James Nyoro, former Governor William Kabogo, Senator Kimani Wamatangi, Thika MP Patrick Wainaina (Wajungle), former governor Ferdinand Waititu and Kiambu County Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndicho.
Kuria’s party has been gaining ground in Central Kenya, with many contenders expressing interest to vie for various positions on the CCK ticket.
The 51-year-old legislator was born in the sleepy village of Gathuya in Gatundu North. After completing his secondary school education at Ituru, he joined the University of Nairobi, where he graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Commerce. He then joined the Students Organization of Nairobi University (SONU) as a treasure which served as a prelude to him entering politics.
Before he was elected MP, Kuria had worked for various banks in different capacities and a few political parties, including the defunct The National Alliance (TNA) and Party of National Unity (PNU).
Kuria succeeded the late Jossy Ngugi after a by-election, where he was elected unopposed through a TNA party.
The MP attributes his interest in politics to the retired President Mwai Kibaki due to his unbowed and strict political principles in leadership.
