Continued power outage in city estates due to glitch–KPLC

Kenya Power has said that the continued power outages in Nairobi estates is due to a technical hitch.

In an update on Wednesday, Kenya Power said their technicians had identified the issue and are working to resolve it.

"We have identified a technical fault on the Suswa-Embakasi high voltage transmission power line that tripped electricity, cutting supply to parts of Nairobi yesterday evening," Kenya Power said.

The affected areas include; Embakasi, Kitengela, Athi River, Industrial Area, parts of Lang'ata, Jamhuri, Kilimani and Kileleshwa.

Others include; the Nairobi Central Business District, Hurlingham, Syokimau and Westlands.

The company said electricity will be restored by 5 pm on Wednesday.

"Engineers from the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) are on the site to repair the line."

There was a nationwide outage on Tuesday morning following the collapse of towers on the Kiambere-Embakasi high voltage transmission power line.

The power outage caused an uproar on social media with Kenyans seeking clarification on when the power would be restored.
