From a sample size of 4,975 tested in the last 24 hours, Kenya on Monday recorded 1,034 new Covid-19 cases.
In a statement, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said the positivity rate is now at 20.8%.
He added that from the cases, 851 are Kenyans while 183 are foreigners. 530 are females while 504 males.
The youngest is a five-month-old child while the oldest is 103 years.
This brings the total confirmed positive cases in the country to 312,572 and cumulative tests so far conducted so far are 3,104,457.
Kagwe said 3,611 patients have recovered from the disease; 3,493 from the home-based isolation and care program while 118 are from various health facilities countrywide.
The total recoveries now stand at 268,573 of whom 218,490 are from the home-based care and isolation program, while 50,083 are from various health facilities countrywide.
Eight patients have succumbed to the disease, all of them being late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in the months of December 2021 and January 2022.
This now pushes the cumulative fatalities to 5,454.
A total of 1,225 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 23,107 are under the home-based isolation and care program.
45 patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU), 44 of them on ventilatory support while one is on supplemental oxygen.
Another 308 patients are on supplemental oxygen and 303 of them are in the general wards. Five patients are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
The CS also announced that as of January 9, a total of 10,609,955 vaccines had so far been administered across the country.
"Of these, 6,047,125 are partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated are 4,486,533.
Another 24,326 are doses administered to those between 15 to 18 years while 51,971 are booster doses.
The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose was at 56.7 per cent.
The proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 16.5 per cent.
