Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has said that Amani National Congress will ask party leader Musalia Mudavadi to seek friendship with Deputy President William Ruto and others, ahead of the August 9, General Election.
Speaking on Saturday, Malala said ANC will allow Mudavadi to seek friendship with other Kenyans including Ruto during it National Delegates Convention, which is set for January 23.
At the NDC, the party will also endorse Mudavadi to be its flag bearer.
The senator said his attendance at the Ruto rally in Eldoret was based on the stand by party leader Musalia Mudavadi that everyone was at liberty to associate freely.
Malala claimed he was speaking at the Eldoret rally on behalf of the Luhya community.
"Ruto appeared at my football tournament in Mumias recently and I was passing through the Eldoret Airport and heard that he has an event here. I decided by come and greet him," Malala said.
He also hit out at opposition chief Raila Odinga saying the ODM leader would not be elected as president come August 9, elections.
"They are calling him the 5th but let me tell them that he will fail terribly."
Malala said the Western region would stand firm and will not back Raila during the polls.
He also said those complaining over the friendship with Ruto should keep off.
"Let them know that their enemies are not necessarily our enemies", said Malala.
