As students transition from secondary school and join university, parents need to note that children are still under their care until they complete their four or more years in university.

They deserve parental care and love.

In most cases, when students get to universities, parents leave these children on their own to cater for their basic needs.

Parents should lead them spiritually, emotionally and support them financially to ensure they build a strong foundation for a successful career.

Equality is necessary for education.

Those who are from humble backgrounds, should maximise government financial resources such as bursaries and sponsorships.

Financial support aside, parents should never forsake their children who are in universities and assume they are adults.

They need to be encouraged and have that homely touch from time to time so that it can keep them sane.

Whether young or old, educated or illiterate, everyone deserves parental love to feel like they belong.
