Ruto told hecklers to leave in peace and plan their own rally.

Deputy President William Ruto on Tuesday told off hecklers at a rally in Laikipia county.

Ruto was booed when making his speech, however, undeterred, the DP told off the crowd.

“Msikuje hapa kupiga kelele kwa mkutano yangu. Kila mtu apange mkutano yake. Wacheni upuzi hapana (Don't come to make noise at my rally. Everyone should plan their own rally. Stop the stupidity),” he said, as the crowd continued booing and heckling.

The DP continued, “No.. no siwezi kukubali..kwani mumekuja kutupigia kelele hapa. Kama hamtaki tuende na nidhamu please tafathali… kila mtu apange mkutano yake (I won't allow it. You can't come here to heckle me. If you don't want to be here, go in peace. Everyone should plan their rally).”

Meanwhile, Ruto fronted former Mungiki sect leader Maina Njenga as the UDA senator candidate for the region.

"Mtanipatia senator ambaye anajua mambo ya bottom up? Kwa hivyo Maina Njenga akuje UDA ama afanye nini? (Will you give me a senator who understands the bottom-up approach? Should Maina Njenga be the UDA candidate?)" Ruto said.

"Hii kura ya Karandi ni ya hustler ama ni ya wale? (Do the winning votes belong to the hustler side or to opponents?)"

Ruto urged residents to vote for UDA candidates in 2022.
