The bottom-up economics, a model being championed by Deputy President William Ruto in his political campaigns has been challenged in court.
A petitioner has told the court the use of bottom-up economic theory by "self-appointed interpreters" poses a grave danger to national security.
Jacob Kioko, a marketer by training and a businessman by occupation says, the theory is being used as a political gimmick by people who do not understand it at all.
Kioko says his intellectual property rights have been infringed on by politicians and their followers through the casual use of the bottom-up economic approach theory which was developed exclusively by DUGWI innovation.
Dichotomus Universal Growth Web Innovation (DUGWI) is a marketing innovation developed by Kioko and officially launched on 31 May 2013.
According to the court documents, among the leading benefits from the adoption of the DUGWI innovation is the development of the new bottom-up economic approach. Kioko developed the innovation over a period of sixteen years.
He is seeking the court's intervention and wants the government (respondent) ordered to stop the use of the term ‘Bottom-up’ economy as a political gimmick, slogan or for any other purpose by any other parties besides his intended purpose of promoting the goals of the DUGWI innovation.
Also sought is an order to have the government adopt DUGWI as a National Asset to protect it from potential plagiarism.
He also wants the government to guarantee him (the innovator) protection and full benefits arising from the use of the innovator’s intellectual property rights.
Also sought is an order that the innovator is fully compensated for the use of his intellectual property by other parties without his consent.
"Making the bottom-up economic concept a political slogan is a deliberate move by the concerned parties to counter and water down DUGWIs noble effort to grow the national economy through the development of the capacity to raise investment capital from local resources," he says.
He argues that unless the misuse of the bottom-up economic concept for any other purposes besides its intended purpose as designed by DUGWI innovation, the nation will suffer irreparable loss and damages.
"The foregoing potential of economic growth will be completely lost in its entirety if the misuse of the bottom-up economic theory will not be halted immediately," says Kioko.
According to the court documents, the purpose for developing the DUGWI innovation was to get to the bottom of the matter and then develop a program for drawing Africa out of the quagmire it has always lived in for as long as she has existed and to elevate her into the status of world economic leadership.
But driven by an utter misconception of the term "bottom-up" economic approach, different politicians have coined polar different interpretations of the same thing to suit their own egos.
"These self-appointed interpreters of a new economic approach which they do not understand at all, pose a grave danger to national security. Both proponents and opponents of this gross misconception of the new economic approach are grossly misleading the public," says Kioko.
Kioko claims that those using the model are in complete darkness regarding the new economic approach and it is made worse by the large followings of misinformed fanatical supporters.
He argues the state has failed to support, promote and protect the DUGWI innovation following numerous engagements by the government.
"I have done all that is humanly possible to get political goodwill. Over the decades I have had several engagements with CS Industrialization, the President and the Deputy President, Speaker of national assembly, the Attorney General with no success," says Kioko.
Kioko contends that the casual use of the bottom-up economic approach amounts to National economic sabotage.
"It undermines the country's effort in lobbying the World Trade Organization (WTO) for accreditation of the DUGWI innovation. The economic loss the country is bound to suffer in this area alone cannot be quantified on paper," he says.
