Kenya records nine deaths, 96 new Coronavirus cases

Kenya on Monday recorded 96 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country's case load to 251,248, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said.

The CS in a statement confirmed that this was from a sample size of 3,702 recording a positivity rate of 2.6 per cent.

The cumulative tests stand at 2,609,854.

The country's fatalities have risen to 5,190 after another nine patients succumbed to the disease.

Kagwe said that there are 724 patients currently admitted in various hospitals across the country. Another, 1,742 patients are on the home-based care programme.

A total of 46 patients are in ICU, out of which 29 are on ventilatory support.

Also,253 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen.

Meanwhile, 293 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 202 were from the Homebased care program while 91 were discharged from various health facilities.

Kenya's recoveries now stand at 244,237.

VACCINATION

As of October 10, 4,198,545 vaccines had been administered across the country. 3,146,510 were partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated were 1,052,035.
