ODM leader Raila Odinga has said that everything is achievable if Kenyans unite.

Speaking on Saturday at the Convention of All Israel Churches of Kenya in Gilgil, the former Prime Minister said his azimio la umoja call is to bring together the people of Kenya in the fight against the vices that have been dragging the country behind.

“Tumesema tunataka azimio la umoja ya kuunganisha makabila yote ya Kenya ili tuweze kupigana na maadui yetu manne makubwa; ugonjwa, ujinga, umaskini na utawala mbaya,” Raila said, which loosely translates to, “We want to unite all tribes in order to fight our four main enemies; sickness, ignorance, poverty and bad governance.”

He equated the azimio la umoja quest to being same as that of the Israelites.

The ODM leader noted that looking back, Kenya has come from far as a country.

Raila said that it is only through unity that peace, stability and a good economy can be achieved.

"I launched unity declaration he in Nakuru and the aim is to bring all Kenyans together for the country's third and final liberation,” Raila said.

He reiterated the need for economic recovery saying that it will ease the financial burden on taxpayers.

"People have been pushed to the wall by increasing public debt and the skyrocketing fuel prices and the best thing to do is to ease their burden," he said.

Raila observed with a better economy farmers in different sectors, the business community and manufacturers will get their rights.

He promised to deliver economic liberation and save citizens who are suffering from inflation and other financial hardships.

The former PM launched his azimio la umoja call in Nakuru on August 17, where he announced that the journey had begun for a mass movement to the Promised Land.

He stated national unity, restoring the economy and eradicating graft major planks of his presidential bid.

"We will unveil the vehicle that has space for the diversity of Kenyans to the Promised Land," Raila said.
