[PHOTOS] Five arrested attempting to rob Prime Bank

The suspects were arrested on Friday morning.

•According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the suspects had rented a room next to the bank where they were drilling the wall before their arrest.

•Some of the equipment recovered during their arrest include; five digging bars, hand drills, three hacksaws and a twisted rope among other tools.

Five suspects were Thursday arrested after their plan to rob a bank in Kamkunji area, Nairobi was bursted. The five had hired four rooms next to Family Bank branch in the area with a plan to drill a wall and access the banking hall.

Five suspects were arrested as they drilled a wall to get into Prime Bank OTC branch, in Kamukunji area.

The five; Charles Mugo, Fredrick Muderwa, Jesse Muriuki, Gabriel Mungai and Reuben Njuka were arrested and taken to Kamukunji police station.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the suspects had rented a room next to the bank where they were drilling the wall before their arrest.

The five who were arrested on Friday morning were paraded at Kamukunji Police Station for the public to see them and what they were up to.

A metal cutter scissors and a suitcase were also recovered.

The five will be arraigned in court.
