Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and 10 others have pleaded guilty to charges relating to flouting Covid-19 restrictions in a Kiambu Law Court.

They were each fined Sh75,000 each or eight months imprisonment in a forfeit.

The 11 accused appeared on Tuesday before Chief Magistrate Stella Atambo.

They were arrested in Karuri at Havilla Cornerstone Gardens at 9 pm on Monday with 19 others.

The police received after a tip-off that there was a gathering of a political nature which was in contravention of the Covid-19 rules.

They faced five charges which included consumption of alcohol, failing to maintain a physical distance, not wearing face masks, prohibition of gathering and contravening provisions of curfew.
