Student charged after altercation at Kileleshwa house party lands friend in ICU

A university student who attacked his friend using an alcohol bottle at a house party in Kileleshwa has been charged with assault.

The assault charges were pressed on Brian Muriuki after three days that the police had been granted by the court to detain him as they investigated the offence elapsed.

Muriuki denied the charges on Thursday before Kibera senior principal magistrate Esther Boke and court prosecutor Allan Mogere did not object his release on bail.

According to the charge sheet, the accused person committed the offence at Mideya apartment block C209 in Kileleshwa, Nairobi county.

He assaulted Mark Ngari.

The accused person took an empty bottle and hit the victim on the left chin and it broke, the victim was taken to the hospital because of excess bleeding , the police report says.

The accused person was released on Sh10,000 cash bail.

Boke directed the case to be mentioned after two weeks
