Jubilee party has eulogised Nakuru MCA Samwel Mbugua as a likeable leader.

Mbugua succumbed to Covid-19 complications on Wednesday night.

"We are deeply disheartened by the death of Jubilee Party MCA for London Ward, following a short illness. He will be remembered as a likeable leader who served his multi-ethnic constituents with equal commitment," Jubilee said via Twitter.

The party went ahead to say that Mbugua was a hardworking individual who served as the vice chairperson to the Energy, Environment & Natural Resources Committee.

Mbugua was also a member of the Lands, Housing and Physical Planning Committee, the Health Services Committee, the Labour & Social Welfare Committee.

"Our thoughts & prayers go to his family and friends during this time of grief," Jubilee added.

His death comes barely two weeks after the death of Hell’s Gate MCA John Njuguna.

In his condolence to Karanja, Governor Lee Kinyanjui said that the assembly is mourning a  third loss of its members in one year.
