Two suspects linked to abduction of CA officer detained

A Kibera court on Thursday allowed detectives to continue holding two suspects linked to the abduction and disappearance of an employee of the Communications Authority pending investigations.

The order was granted by Kibera chief magistrate Abdul Lorot after a successful application by police constable Christopher Okello of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Dagoretti.

In the application, Okello told court that Jacknories Muchache and Teresia Wanjiru were arrested in Kangemi in Nairobi on October 13.

During their arrest, they were found in possession of the phone of the missing employee.

“We arrested them in Kangemi and were in possession of the mobile phone that belonged to the missing person. The matter was reported to the station and the DCI officers were told to take over the matter for further investigation,” Okello told court.

He said Francis Ondusu went missing on June 26 and has never been found since.

“I, therefore, request this court to grant me the said order to so that I retrieve the M-Pesa statements from the respondents to verify the registered owner of the recovered mobile phone held by the respondents,” he said.

The magistrate directed that the suspects be detained at Kabete police station as police conclude the investigations.
