Strong winds are expected in counties in coastal region, Eastern and Northeastern.

They are Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Taita Taveta, Kajiado, Marsabit, Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, West Pokot, Turkana and Samburu.

This is according to the Kenya Meteorological department five-day weather forecast between September 24-28.

The forecast indicates strong southerly to southeasterly winds of more than 25 knots are expected over some parts of the Southeastern lowlands, the Northeast, the Coastal strip and the Northwest.

The weatherman says rainfall is likely to continue over parts of Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Transnzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, ElgeyoMarakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma and Busia counties.

There will be light rains over a few places, or sunny intervals in the morning and showers and thunderstorms over a few places in the evening.

“Occasional rains are also likely to occur over a few areas in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, of Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka Counties and the Coastal Strip while the rest of the country is likely to be generally dry,” forecast stated.
