A man was on Wednesday charged with gang raping a woman with disability contrary to the sexual offence act.
Rodgers Odhiambo was charged before Kibera senior Principal Magistrate Esther Boke where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Odhiambo committed the offence alongside others not before court on July 11 in Kawangware within Nairobi County.
He was charged with another count of committing indecent act with an adult contrary to the sexual offence act.
The case was reported by an interpreter who accompanied the woman to the police.
According to the charge sheet, the complainant left her work place and was escorted by her boyfriend before the incident occurred.
Her boyfriend prepared her super and when he left, the accused persons alongside his friends entered her house.
“They covered her mouth with clothes and raped her in turns until the following day in the morning,” the police report says.
The next day, the complainant was visited by her friends who on realizing what had happened accompanied her to the police station where they reported the matter.
The police report says that the police advised her to seek medication which she did at the Nairobi hospital treated and discharged.
Yesterday, the accused person denied the wrong doing and asked court to release him on bond.
The magistrate released him on Sh300,000 with the surety of the same amount with a credible contact person.
The case will be mentioned on August 11.
