A man in Kitui on Friday chopped off his private parts in a suicide attempt.
Police said he also tried to slit his throat with knife.
The motive was not known.
Attempted suicide is illegal.
Migwani police station in Kitu received a call after neighbours said the man was found screaming and writhing in pain in his house.
“The scene was immediately visited and it was found out the victim had chopped off his private parts using a sharp knife," the OB said.
