Public Service Commission to scale down operation from Monday after 10 test positive

Staff members have been asked to proceed on self-isolation in their homes.

The services at the Public Service Commission will be cut down from Monday following cases of coronavirus confirmed among the staff.

The MEMO to all PSC staff and interns says that the commission will temporarily scale down its operation to reduce further spread of the virus.

The samples of 10 staff members turned positive for the diseases following mass testing of the entire commission fraternity that was carried out on July 1, 2020.

 

Therefore, PSC will be closed for 14 days, effective from June13-24 and access to the commission offices will be restricted.

All the staff members have also been asked to proceed on self-isolation in their respective homes.

During the closer, fumigation and sterilisation of PSC building will be carried out to eliminate the virus.

This comes as the number of cases in the country continue to increase daily.

On Sunday, 379 people tested positive for the virus, adding the number of cases in the country to 10,105.

Nairobi continues to register high figures of the positive cases, reporting 209 from the total new cases.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said through the statement on the updates of  Covid-19 that one more patient succumbed to the virus, bringing the number of deaths to 185.

 

Earlier, four people had been reported testing positive in Sate House, which saw the president shifting his operations to his office in Harambee House.
