Kenya records 149 new cases with five deaths reported

CAS Aman announced 48 recoveries as the fatalities rose to a total of 137.

Kenya on Friday recorded 149 new Covid-19  cases, bringing the total to 5,533, Health CAS Rashid Aman has said.

148 are Kenyans with an exception of one.

Out of the positive cases, Nairobi is leading with 73 confirmed cases in the last 24 hours.

 
 
 
 
 

Aman said 48 have been discharged, bringing number of total recoveries to 1,905.

However, the country has lost five patients, bringing the fatalities to 137.

94 of the cases are males and 55 females. In terms of age, the youngest is a one year old infant, while the oldest is 76 years old.

In terms of County distribution, Nairobi is leading with 73 cases, followed by Mombasa with 20, Kajiado 15, Siaya 13, Busia nine, Kiambu eight, Taita Taveta and Machakos three cases each, Kilifi, Nakuru, Nandi, Bungoma and Isiolo, have one case each.

The cases are distributed in sub counties as follows: In Nairobi the 20 cases are in Kibra with 17 cases, Langata 12, Dagoretti North (10), Westlands (7), Embakasi West and Embakasi North (5), Roysambu (4), Ruaraka, Makadara, Embakasi South, Kamukunji and Kasarani have have two cases each, while Embakasi Central, Starehe and Nathare have one case each.

In Mombasa, the cases are in Mvita (9), Nyali (6), Changamwe (3), Kisauni and Jomvu have one case each.

 

In Kajiado, the cases are in Kajiado East (7), Kajiado Central (6) and Loitokitok (2).

 

In Siaya, all the 13 cases are in Bondo, while in Busia, the nine cases are in Teso South.

In Kiambu, the cases are in Kiambaa with three cases, Kikuyu and Kabete with two cases each and Kiambu Town with one case.

In Taita Taveta, all the three cases are in Taveta, while the three cases in Machakos are in Athi River.

The case in Kilifi is in Kaloleni, while the one in Nakuru is in Nakuru East. The one in Bungoma is in Webuye and the case in Isiolo is in Isiolo town.
