Girls own their bodies, but when you own something, don't you at times need consultants?
These were the words of Uganda President Yoweri Museveni during the ICPD conference being held on Nairobi on Tuesday.
World leaders, representatives unveiled their commitments to end preventable maternal death, meet all women’s demand for family planning, and stop violence against women and girls by 2030.
"I had the slogan which I support that girls own their bodies...I agree that my daughters and granddaughters own their bodies. Remember I am here as a veteran husband, father, grandfather and freedom fighter," he said.

"But when you own something, don't you at times need consultants? In my home, I am the consultant."
Museveni said there was nothing that did not require advice adding that even owning a body needed advice.
"In my home, I am the consultant ...there is nothing that does not need advice in society. We know more about society than people who are beginning their lives. I am a veteran freedom fighter but the question is when you own something, don't you get consultants to help you own your property better?" he posed.
"I have had people hiring consultants for business..now who are the consultants of young people?"
Museveni said for commitments to work the society must be modernised.
