Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang' has been acquitted of treason charges following his move to ‘swear-in’ ODM leader as the ‘people’s President’ in 2018.

His acquittal follows a High Court decision to clear him.

Kajwang was charged in 2018.

ODM on Wednesday tweeted, "High Court has acquitted Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang of treason charges. Says the case was politically instigated.”

"Mr Kajwang had been accused of illegally administering an unlawful oath to PL @RailaOdinga on the 30th of January 2018 at Uhuru Park Nairobi."

Kajwang', a confidant of ODM leader Raila Odinga, was first arrested in 2018 for administering presidential oath at Uhuru Park.

However, lawyer Miguna Miguna, who also faces treason has not been acquitted.
