A joint statement from the KRA, KPA and DCI on Friday said that an international organised syndicate that had been involved in importing counterfeit motor vehicles was disrupted.

The vehicles will be received in the UK and later taken to their owners after being identified.

KRA said the war on illicit trade and substandard goods will continue.

The perpetrators behind illicit trade have been put on notice.

In September, DCI Serious Crime Unit detectives carried out an operation on smuggled vehicles and impounded six motor vehicles suspected to have been smuggled from other countries.

Detectives confirmed that the three Mercedes Benzs and three Range Rovers were smuggled into the country without paying tax.
