Vihiga county chief of staff Noah Okaya has dismissed as untrue claims that he is eyeing for Luanda parliamentary seat in 2022.
Okaya was speaking to the press yesterday from his office at the county headquarters.
“I'm not in politics and I'm not even planning to be a politician, that is not part of plans,” he said.
The reports alleged that Okaya is being fronted by Governor Wilber Ottichillo to battle incumbent MP Chris Omulele.
Sources say the governor is banking on his chief of staff to seal his votes in Luanda subcounty come 2022 .
Okaya said those who are spreading the gossip on him being fronted by Ottichillo are misleading the public.
“I have no interest in politics I'm beyond politics, therefore there is no need for people to have restless nights with me,” he said.
Okaya said Luanda has strong politicians who can battle the incumbent MP.
Among the senior politicians that have been battling to unseat the incumbent MP unsuccessfully include Arthur Apungu ANC, Albert Obbuyi Ford Kenya, and Dishon Atemo UDF.
Leader of minority Tom Atingo has also declared his interest in the race to unseat Omulele on Jubilee ticket.
