New X-Tigi Technology Limited was yesterday charged with Sh 194 million tax evasion.
Director Gao Fei appeared in court and was accused of failing to submit tax returns for the year starting January 2015 to July 2016 to the Commissioner of Kenya Revenue Authority.
The Chinese director pleaded not guilty to three counts of failing to file returns and failure to pay tax.
His lawyer informed the court that Gao is suffering from stage three colon cancer and is undergoing treatment.
He further informed the court that Gao was involved in a road accident and cannot afford a huge bail.
Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe considered the health status of the suspect and released him on a Sh150,000 bail.
