President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto crack a joke at the DP's Harambee Annex office.

Speculation was rife as President Uhuru Kenyatta made a random visit to DP William Ruto's Harambee Annex office in Nairobi.

The president's motorcade was seen at Ruto's Annex office with many asking if the Uhuru wa going to quell the heat on Ruto.

A statement by PSCU said Uhuru and Ruto shared a working lunch at the DP's office during which the two leaders discussed "matters related to the government's development agenda".

The President is scheduled to leave for Mombasa after the meeting with his deputy.

Details are still scant on whether the two have discussed matters related to Jubilee.

It is a rare occurrence for Uhuru to visit Ruto at either his Harambe Annex or official residence in Karen.

The visit comes at a time when Jubilee MPs have demanded that Uhuru meets them to discuss the growing rifts within the ruling party.

This, they have said, should happen before the State of the Nation Address expected on April 4.

There have been calls from the opposition to impeach Ruto.

Siaya Senator James Orengo proposed the impeachment of Deputy President.

Orengo vowed on Sunday to institute an impeachment motion against Ruto.

The Senate Minority Leader said a Deputy President can be kicked out of office if it’s found that he or she has violated the Constitution or any other law.
