A one-year-old boy from Migori died on Tuesday after being stung by a swarm of bees.

The infant and his two siblings were attacked in Nyangubo village on Monday evening.

Their mother, Vera Awuor, said her son's body got swollen and had

difficulty breathing before he died.

She said her two surviving children have been in pain since the incident.

Assistant chief Charles Ouma said the bees attacked the children after the hive fell from a tree in a nearby farm.

Ouma urged bee farmers to ensure their hives are far from people’s home.
