Anyang' Nyong'o in stable condition

Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o is in stable condition, his office has confirmed.

Nyong'o was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital on Saturday after falling ill during the installation of the new Archbishop of Kisumu, Rev Philip Anyolo at the Uzima University grounds.

The governor's press unit in a statement said following a discomfort while attending the function, Nyong'o excused himself to seek medical attention.

"He was diagnosed with a sudden drop of blood pressure.His doctor has prescribed a brief bed rest as the pressure is stabilized.The Governor is in a stable condition," the statement read.

ODM Party leader Raila Odinga and his daughter Ruth Odinga visited Nyong'o at the hospital.

Deputy President William Ruto, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula, governors, Cornel Rasanga (Siaya), Wycliffe Wangamati (Bungoma) and Cyprian Awiti (Homa Bay) were also present at the event.
