Caspal Obiero, another suspect in the murder of Sharon Otieno, has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

High Court judge Jessie Lessit ordered that Obiero be taken for medical treatment after an application by his lawyer.

The suspect is the Migori county government clerk.

The prosecution requested that Governor Okoth Obado's PA Michael Oyamo and Obiero's cases be consolidated.

Justice Lessit accepted the consolidation of the cases. She said the matter will be heard on October 8.

"This matter will be heard with the others related to the case. The accused will be remanded at Industrial Area until then," she said.

Oyamo is accused to have lured Sharon from her parents’ home in Homa Bay to Rongo before she was abducted alongside Nation journalist Barrack Oduor and later murdered.

He was the first suspect to be arrested in connection with the murder.
