EACC sleuths in Mombasa have arrested a traffic police officer for taking bribes on the road.
Sargent Alice Naisiae based at Makupa police station was found in possession of Sh32,000.
She allegedly solicited the money from motorists she had confiscated their driving licenses and insurance stickers.

The Commission's lower Coast regional manager George Ojowi described Naisiae as a "bribe-thirsty" cop.
"Sh3,000 nabbed from had been treated. We strongly and highly suspect the rest of the money was accumulated from motorists whose licenses had been confiscated," Ojowi said Friday.
Ojowi said Sh29,000 might have been gathered within three hours she had worked.
The anti-graft manager said more than 10 driving licenses,

permits were recovered from Naisiae in the operation.

"EACC believes the driving licenses belong to motorists within Mombasa. The Traffic Police Officer is now being detained at Port Police Station, Mombasa," Ojowi said.
The manager said there is

an overwhelming case against the officer whose operations base is Makupa roundabout and Jela Baridi.

"She will be arraigned in court after a consent from the Director of Public Prosecution. We ask motorists whose documents were withheld by her to come to our offices and collect them," Ojowi said.
