Kenya Power has restored its services and Kenyans can pay for prepaid tokens through the Mpesa wallet

For the last five days,

consumers have been unable to buy power tokens due to system failure at KPLC.

Kenya Power's token generation system went down at the weekend leaving consumers unable to get token numbers despite their payments going through, leaving some in darkness for close to three days.

The company had acknowledged the mishap and called upon residents to buy tokens through their banking halls.

“Dear customers, further to our earlier communication, we wish to inform you that prepaid services have been fully restored.We apologize for inconvenience cost,” read a text from KPLC on Monday.

The power company is not off the hook yet after it has been accused of inflated power bills.

There has also been complaints of tokens getting depleted too fast.
