Exams marking ‘with military precision’

The government will be strict and vigilant with the marking of national exams, Education CS Fred Matiang’i said yesterday.

He spoke in Wamagana, Tetu subcounty, where he witnessed the collection of of KCSE exam papers by secondary school principals at 6am.

“We shall not drop our eyes from the ball. We will manage the marking of examinations with military precision,” Matiang’i said.

He also witnessed the collection exam papers from Nyeri Central subcounty headquarters in Nyeri town.

Matiang’i was joined by PS Belio Kipsang.

He thanked principals and teachers’ union officials for their support in ensuring credibility of exams.

“We don’t want to teach our children fraud by giving them results obtained irregularly and through malpractices,” Matiang’i affirmed.

He said candidates’ results will be true and genuine.
