Former Chief Justice Abdul Majid Cockar (pictured) died at his home in Nairobi yesterday morning. The cause of his death was not revealed. He was buried at the Kariokor Muslim Cemetery yesterday afternoon.
Cockar served as CJ from 1994 to 1997. He served in the judiciary for 36 years before retiring to a law firm, Cockar & Cockar Advocates, which he co-owned with his brother.
