Changamwe police boss Stephen Cheteka is dead.
Cheteka was confirmed dead on arrival at a Mombasa hospital this afternoon.
He is reported to have complained that he was feeling unwell while in his office.
Officers at the station said he was
suffering from high blood
pressure.
"We rushed him
to hospital where he died while
receiving treatment,” a senior officer at the station said.
His colleagues, who mourned their late colleague, hailed him for the fight against criminal gangs who have nearly been wiped out of Changamwe.
Cheteka was transferred to the station from Siaya in June.
